Tammy Burleigh

Tammy began her quest for the perfect faux finish in 1987, when she opened her own school in Colorado, instructing old world styles of painted trim work and embellishments. Eleven years later, in 1998, after mastering the fine art of trompe l’oiel and murals, she continued to further her education by enrolling at the Faux Finish Institute, the premiere faux and decorative finish school in America. Tammy gained much experience working next to some of the most talented ‘faux masters’ and quickly became nationally known for her innovative style.

Winning two awards at the ‘2002 Fauxcademy of Decorative Finish Awards’ ceremony held in Key West Fl, was a highlight of her career. In the categories of ‘Best Trompe l’oeil’ and ‘Best Architectural Feature’ she won both Gold and Silver awards, which clearly put put her atop many short lists for discriminating Interior Designers and Architects.

Still searching for excellence, Tammy was recognized for her recent work at the ‘2006 Fauxcademy of Faux and Decorative Finishes

Awards’ held in Las Vegas, NV by winning the top award in the ‘Best Old World Finish’ category as well as three top award nominees in the categories of ‘Best Overall Residential’, ‘Best Furniture’ as well as ‘Best Kitchen or Hearth Room.’ In 2007, the House of Faux also won Honorable Mention in the ‘American Contractors Magazine’ Top Job Award Contest held nation wide. Also in 2007, we were honored to take 1st place in the 3m Blue Tape Contest also held annually .

Brian comes to the House of Faux with a strong background in design and construction of high end residential and commercial projects. As a custom home builder since 1989, he knows the challenges of scheduling and implementation that large projects can bring.

With his training in design and the art of faux, he entered and won the Gold award for ‘Best Faux or Decorative Finish Award for Furniture’ at the ‘2002 Fauxcademy of Decorative Finish Awards.’
